Makers House™ Weddings: Christina & Wade Drake’s Lexington, KY Wedding Sneak Peek

Christina corales + wade drake wedding sneak peek

There are some wedding days that transcend trends, and some couples who define the word timeless. Christina & Wade Drake’s wedding at the Drake Family Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, was both. As Creative Director of Makers House™, I’ve had the honor of producing hundreds of extraordinary celebrations across the Bluegrass and beyond—but this one will live in my memory as the Kentucky wedding of the year.

The Bride, the Gown, and the Farm

Christina’s Anne Barge gown was a masterclass in southern sophistication. Its lines were clean, its craftsmanship impeccable, and its understated glamour mirrored her personality completely. Against the rolling fields of the Drake Farm, she was radiant—refined, gracious, and truly Kentucky-beautiful.

From the first look on the lawn to the walk down the aisle, the emotion of the day felt tangible. It’s the kind of wedding we design at Makers House™ not for spectacle, but for meaning. Every detail—every ribbon, every glass, every floral note—had a purpose.

Design & Experience

The reception unfolded beneath a glowing sailcloth tent that seemed to float above the pastures. Inside, every table was dressed in custom linens and finished with a level of detail that only a fully-immersed design house could deliver. The palette reflected the season—soft neutrals grounded by warm, moody tones—allowing the setting sun to paint the rest.

Guests were greeted with cocktails crafted from a custom single-barrel Eagle Rare bourbon—a private selection chosen by the couple exclusively for their day. Each guest departed with a personalized bottle as a gift, a keepsake that represented both Kentucky’s bourbon heritage and the couple’s generous spirit.

The evening’s dinner and music unfolded with all the rhythm of a story—slow, intentional, beautifully choreographed. When the final course was cleared and the music shifted, the celebration reached its crescendo with a spectacular fireworks show that illuminated the farm’s lake and sky.

The Boat Dock Moment

One of my favorite design moments of the day was the transformation of the farm’s private lake and boat dock—conceptually inspired by Blackberry Farm, one of my favorite luxury destinations in the country. We reimagined that aesthetic here in Lexington: a rustic-refined dock surrounded by ambient lighting and florals that danced with the evening breeze. It became a cinematic backdrop for portraits and toasts—a true reflection of Kentucky hospitality meeting high-end design.

The Signature Makers House™ Touch

When people ask what distinguishes a Makers House™ wedding, this day is the answer. It wasn’t just beautiful—it was intentional. The design was rooted in authenticity, executed with precision, and delivered with the same level of excellence I demand from every vendor, artist, and creative partner involved.

We don’t create Pinterest weddings; we craft immersive experiences that feel like the couple’s personality translated through light, texture, and emotion. Christina & Wade trusted us to handle every single design and production detail—from tenting and rentals to lighting, flow, and atmosphere—and that trust made the magic possible.

The Heart of Kentucky Weddings

There’s something about a Lexington wedding that simply can’t be replicated anywhere else. The history. The generosity. The quiet luxury of a family farm turned into a dreamscape for one extraordinary weekend.

For couples planning Kentucky farm weddings, Lexington estate weddings, or luxury tent weddings, this day is the benchmark of what’s possible when you merge world-class design with authentic Kentucky soul.

A Final Word

Christina & Wade’s wedding wasn’t just an event—it was a reflection of everything I love about this work. Elegant but warm. Grand but personal. A flawless balance of design precision and emotional storytelling.

On behalf of our entire Makers House™ team, thank you to the Drakes for opening their home, to our extraordinary vendor partners, and most of all to Christina & Wade for trusting us to bring this vision to life.

It was the most perfect Kentucky fall day, and it reminded me once again why I love designing in this state—because when the sun sets over the bluegrass and the lights flicker under a sailcloth tent, there’s simply nothing like a Kentucky wedding.
